The Other World

This. Took. Forever. I hate painting now. I spent most of the marking period fixing details. Shame there's no real-life paint-bucket tool. It's got a small glare there, the black is solid black, just so you know. I worked until it burned inside to put a paint brush against it.

This is my most original piece so far. I love it. I loved the design from the start, the concept was extremely awesome, and I'm glad it came out like it did. I was assigned to do a study of positive & negative space. I wanted to do something abstract, but I also wanted to do some sort of close & far landscape. I illustrated this piece, I used reference to make the objects in there a little more realistic while still being able to warp them around in this crazy world I created. This is the last of today's swill. My gallery is now larger.

"This is something you look at when you're high" says my friend who probably wishes not be named.

[EDIT 1/22/09] Retouched the photograph and cropped it 'cause I actually care now. I might reshoot it to get rid of the flash.
